Firefox 3.5 Portable Available for Download
LifeHacker - Windows only: Firefox lovers have no doubt already updated to the recently released Firefox 3.5 for its amazing new features, but if you're more the portable type, Firefox 3.5 Portable Edition is officially available for download.

This portable version comes to us from the reliable folks at PortableApps.com, makers of the popular, previously mentioned Portable Apps Suite, and brings all the goodies of Firefox 3.5 to your thumb drive. You may still need to perform a little about:config tweaking to get your extensions working with Firefox 3.5, but apart from that the portable version looks like it's ready to go.

Hackers still exploiting latest IE7 Bug
Chicago (IL) - A week ago Microsoft issued a patch for a critical hole in Internet Explorer 7, and now cyber-criminals are exploiting that weakness. The patch Microsoft released addressed a vulnerability whereby the browser improper handled errors when attempting to access deleted objects.
Trend Micro has deemed the malicious code, hidden within a Word document, XML-DLOADR.A. On any system that has yet to be patched, an Active X object automatically accesses a Web site which opens a backdoor. That backdoor installs a local .DLL file (dynamic link library). This file is then capable of executing on the machine, essentially stealing information. The code then sends the collected data to another Web address via port 443, explains Trend Micro in a blog post.
Because of the back door and custom .DLL injection, anyone outside of the machine can run commands on an infected system.
